Application Clinic

For the past decades, job hunting has always felt like a labyrinth and a thankless process. Add to that a very challenging job market, the rise of AI (with all its good and bad consequences), and under-resourced workplaces where there is no time to give proper feedback to all candidates, and it's no wonder that job applicants feel more lost and unsure than ever.

At Social Capital, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting our members however we can. This is why we are hosting an Application Clinic on 12–13 October, where you can bring your application materials and all your doubts and concerns for a dedicated, kind-but-honest assessment by our Application Experts, to hopefully improve your job hunting chances.

How does it work?
We will have dedicated stations for the two main stages of job hunting: CV + motivation letter and Interviews. You can register for a single station or both, depending on your needs. Each candidate gets a 20-minute block with the Expert on the station of their choice, where they can have their application samples reviewed, ask any questions they have, and/or practice for interview scenarios.

Will you also offer job opportunities at this Application Clinic?
No, unfortunately we have no jobs to offer (be it Social Capital itself or the Application Experts in their personal capacity). However, our Application Experts have seen it and done it all when it comes to Communications job hunting/hiring in Brussels, so by meeting with them, we have no doubt you will feel more confident in your job searching process and skills.

Who are the Application Experts?
Ana Oliveira has 14 years of professional experience in Communications. In all her years in Brussels, she has worked in EU institutions, non-profit organisations, and the private sector, with half of those years in managerial/senior positions. She has been through countless job application processes, both as a hiring manager and as a candidate, which has given her an incredibly good overview of what to look for and what to present when looking for a job in Communications.
