    About Social Capital

    Where Brussels' communications worlds meet

    Our mission

Social Capital brings corporate, consumer, and policy communications strategists and creatives into the same room, on purpose. Not to agree, but to think better. We’ve learned that when these worlds collide, perspectives sharpen and ideas travel further.

Our mission is simple: spark different conversations that inspire sharper thinking and smarter communications.

    Who can become a member?

If you work in communications, marketing, advertising, or something adjacent, you’re in the right place. If you want better conversations and people to have them with, same.

Social Capital is for people who are curious beyond their lane. Come meet people you’d normally never cross paths with, and see what happens next.

    Why "Social Capital"?

In social science, social capital refers to the networks, relationships, and shared norms that allow people and organisations to work and think together. We think mixing these circles makes everyone sharper.

By being part of this shared space and community, we mix in influence, strategy and creativity. This is one way to become better at what we do.

    Where we belong

We started Social Capital in Brussels in 2024 because it’s packed with smart, curious people who don’t always cross paths, especially across the European quarter and the rest of the city.

We thought that was a missed opportunity.

Brussels is home, but the community is open to anyone who wants new perspectives, fresh energy, and conversations that push a little further than usual. Where it goes next? Let’s just say we’re not planning to stay in one city forever.

    Co-founder

Brussels-based freelance social media/communications strategist and co-founder of Social Capital. My work is about connecting people, ideas and conversations in a way that feels clear, human and easy to step into. Through Social Capital, I help shape good conversations, thoughtful events and a community that feels warm, open and real.

    Margaux Demeyer

    Co-founder

I've spent the last decade in PR and comms, moving between agency life, Brussels' policy and corporate EU bubble and Rome's consumer brand work—getting endlessly curious about what happens when those worlds actually talk to each other. Social Capital is that curiosity turned into a community. Fascinated by the power of words and good copywriting. Also: into neuroscience, mental health, wine and dolce vita.

    Ana Oliveira

    Communications Community Builder

All-around Comms nerd and committed to create the space that the Brussels (and beyond) Communications community deserves. When I'm not at my daytime job or plotting/co-hosting Social Capital events, you may find me on LinkedIn talking about community building, Comms thought leadership, and sharing recruitment and work experiences/tips. Or reading a book with a nice cup of tea and my cat nearby.

    Andrew Antenucci

    Policy & Comms Strategist

As a professional I have lived multiple lives, between roles in marketing, communications, strategy, policy, diplomacy and politics. Above all, I aspire to bring people together around ideas that matter, and turn shared ambitions into real-world change. I am equally happy at a policy roundtable or a lunch table. Social Capital provides a chance to do both!

    Dimitri Giannakis

    Web & Brand

Brussels-based design lead & developer. I run AKIS.STUDIO, a branding and web agency, where I spend my days helping companies and brands stand out and feel human in an increasingly AI-shaped world. At Social Capital, I put that same energy into the website, the merch, and whatever else needs building behind the scenes. Outside of that, you'll probably find me on a terrace with a freddo espresso.
